ABOUT US AND OUR GOALS...

Superheroes of Autism Niagara was founded in 2014 by Jenn Wodynski, single mother of an autistic child. With first hand knowledge of the daily struggle families with children of different abilities face, Jenn sought to create a day that celebrates their many talents and abilities, a day of inclusion that shows the world who they really are and that their disability doesn’t define them. Seeing that the special needs community is often left out of events, Jenn created the Talent Showcase as a way to shine the spotlight on the incredible pool of talented individuals we have in Niagara. To help advocate, raise awareness and create a day just for them free of judgement, bullying, staring eyes and whispers. A day of understanding and acceptance.

It is a day of inclusion for persons of all abilities and ages to showcase their talents in a safe, family friendly environment. The event is free to participant, free to attend and every effort is made to make the participants feel like rock stars!. Not only do participants get their moment on stage to perform or display their art but they will also receive red carpet treatment with a photo shoot,and a special thank you gift for sharing their gifts with us!

It is a free community event that features performances by local musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, actors and art and crafts on display and available for purchase by artists and craft artisans. In addition to info groups from within the special needs community, there will be lots of fun, games and prizes!

Entertaining, engaging and informative --there is something for everyone of every age and ability!
